# Create a Desktop Shortcut to a Test DB
The following line is an example of the target line for selecting an alternate database called Test2.
Copy and paste the following line into a desktop shortcut replacing the Text “Test2” with the database entry added via the connection manager.
Note the quotes and spacing is important for this to work properly.
**"C:\\Program Files\\Computac Inc\\\[i\]merchant\\IM\_MainMenu.exe" db=Test2**
To create a desktop shortcut:
- Copy the sample line above
- Right click on the desktop
- Select New \> Shortcut
- Paste the copied line into the “Type the location of the item” box.
- Click Next
- Enter a name to identify the entry as a test database
- Click finish. The new shortcut will appear on your desktop
When the new shortcut is selected, the \[i\]merchant login form will show the selected database on the bottom of the form.
